After a brief hiatus we are back. Our little break wasn't of our doing but Satan had other plans. He apparently doesn't want us here in Malawi caring for these helpless babies but God does. We were robbed by a gang of armed men who took our material possessions but didn't touch us. Andy was out of town so the children and I were the only ones home but we were able to witness God's protection as never before. We were able to experience incredible peace in the midst of a terrible ordeal. The trauma after the break in has been much harder for us though. The mind is a terrible thing when it is frightened and Satan specializes in tormenting the saints. Thankfully God is mightier and His truth is sustaining us.
We stayed away from our house for 3 weeks while we had work done to make it more secure. We are back in Mzuzu and ready to start doing what God called us here to do. Even though we are anxious and fearful at times, God has never failed to give us a word from His Word that calms our fears. He never promised his servants that doing His will would be easy and in fact the Bible reminds us that we will experience trials and hard times when we walk in obedience.
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 1Pe 1:7
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 1Pe 4:12
We want to thank all of you for your prayers as we know that many, many people were praying for us. Please don't quit as we are still in need of them daily as we begin to reach out and start the process to bring the babies into our home.
I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about. Psalm 17: 6-9
