Just in case some of you are still checking our blog I thought I would pass on what has been happening in Malawi since we've returned home.
A few weeks after being home we started receiving emails from Ministry of Hope-Malawi asking if we were going to continue funding the nursery through June 2008. I'll give you some background before I go on--months before we decided to leave we asked MoH what the future of the nursery was for 2008 as we said we would be leaving by June of 2008. They said they would take over the nursery in January 2008 which to us meant all aspects including financing it. When we decided to leave in September we committed to continue financing it through the end of the year (we received no financial help in running the nursery-this was totally funded by us). At the time it was understood by all parties that MoH would finance it from then on. Now that we've returned home we are told that there is no funding for the nursery for 2008. We were caught off guard and totally shocked.
What do we do now? We again restated our position that we could not fund the nursery in 2008 but wondered what God really wanted us to do. How could we leave the babies stranded like that? Thankfully we didn't have to worry very long. Ministry of Hope-USA (which is the fundraising arm of the organization) sent a plea to churches and within the day a church in Phoenix committed to fund the nursery for 2008. WOW!! isn't God good?! It just reinforced to us that God is still in charge and loves the babies more than we do. Lisa

Praise the Lord, may your legacy continue there!
I am thankful that the Lord is taking care of those babies. I worry for them and for the nursery. Is there any oversight at all in terms of daily operations, funding, etc?
It must be difficult to have left and be so far away.
Yes, there are those of us who still follow the blog "just in case" you update occasionally! Thanks so much for letting us sojourn with you via the blog while you were in Malawi, and I'm praying for God's purposes for you back in the States to be very clear.
